Bio

Lori Flood

Lori FloodLORI FLOOD’s primary interest in fiber arts is traditional wet felting using both historical and contemporary techniques. She has been a textile artist for over 15 years, primarily focused on feltmaking. Her intrigue with felting lies in the way in which a seamless and multi-dimensional piece can be created that is free of the constraints dictated by the weave or knit stitch. The ability to sculpt and shape during felting allows limitless opportunities to create beautiful textiles from this natural and historic media. Lori has exhibited nationally, and sells her felt artwork in galleries across the country. She has been the recipient of numerous awards and published in a number of feltmaking books. As an instructor, her philosophy is to teach the techniques but allow the work of the students to reflect their own sense of style and design.
