KAY BARNES has been on a quest for artistic expression for most of her life. Her creative statements have gone from clay sculpture and textiles to oils and acrylics, to her true passion, watercolor. Kay has lived in several regions of the country, affording her opportunity to study and paint with many noteworthy artists. She is a signature member of both the California Watercolor Association and the Northwest Watercolor Society. She is past president of the Eastside Association of Fine Arts (Bellevue, Washington) and a popular juror for regional art exhibits. Having exhibited widely, her works hang in many corporate and private collections throughout the United States and abroad. Kay built her teaching studio and gallery in Woodinville, Washington in 2002. Since then, students have poured in and the sharing of her passion for watercolor has grown into a lifestyle. Kay teaches weekly classes, private lessons, and workshops locally, nationally, and internationally.
