Bio

Cynthia Corbin

Cynthia CorbinCYNTHIA CORBIN sees her work as an eclectic personal expression based on the classical form of the quilt. Drawing on her love of both folk art and abstract art, she explores dyeing and painting, intensive machine quilting, and a problem-solving, seat-of-the-pants approach to quilt construction. Cynthia’s art quilts have been published and exhibited throughout the United States and Europe, in such exhibitions as Visions, Quilt National, CraftForms, and Fiberart International. She lectures and teaches nationally, applying her passion to the development of each student’s individual voice. As an artist, Cynthia has devoted herself to extensive study, working to deepen her understanding of the processes that drive her work. As a teacher, she encourages her students in the search for uniqueness and authenticity in their own work. Cynthia currently works in her home studio in Woodinville, Washington.
