About the Pacific Northwest Art School

Founded in 1986, the Pacific NorthWest Art School is known for its visual art workshops, art expeditions, and conferences/forums in Fiber Arts, Painting and Photography. The location on beautiful Whidbey Island attracts artists from all over the U.S. and Canada who aspire to improve their talents and skills. Workshops at the Pacific NorthWest Art School are taught by nationally and internationally renowned professional artists.

The Pacific Northwest Art School is an Art School located on beautiful Whidbey Island in Washington State.  Each year we hold workshops and classes in Fiber Arts, Painting, and Photography. Our nationally renowned visiting faculty of over 100 professional artists includes:

 

In Photography

  • Sam Abell - award winning National Geographic photographer
  • Tony Sweet- well known nature photographer
  • Brenda Tharp - well known landscape/nature photographer

 

In Painting

  • Jove Wang - Master of Oil Paintings, Signature Artist (OPA) and award winning impressionistic oil painter
  • Carla O'Connor- signature member of AWS, international instructor
  • Joe Bohler-plein air watercolorist, signature member of AWS 

 

In Fiber Arts

  • Carol Soderlund - national and international award winner, quilter, fiber artist, exhibitor, and teacher
  • Jane Dunnewold-surface design, exhibitor and teacher
  • Ana Lisa Hedstrom-innovator in surface design, exhibitor, instructor
